Over five million weddings have taken place in Las Vegas, making it the number one city in the USA for marriages and celebrations of the like. Wedding packages and iconic chapel experiences make Las Vegas famous. However, each wedding is wholly personal, from the couples to their preferences and the locations.

In similar fashion, the niche venues and nature spots outside the city offer the chance to create a one-of-a-kind experience. These six unique wedding destinations in Nevada extend diversity to the standard chapel ceremony, from Western-themed weddings to nature getaways and so much more.

Gaze Upon Petroglyphs at Valley of Fire

The Valley of Fire national park is already known for stunning landscapes and raw beauty. However, its history remains scrawled across the rock faces. The state park’s petroglyphs date back millennia, and require a short hike up the Atlatl Rock staircase for the splendor. As one of the most unique places to wed in the state, many couples ascend to this splendid spot to get married each year.

While several vendors and planners are equipped for the day-of details, select photographers have created careers from learning this landscape. Trey Tomsik has photographed couples in front of these ancient marvels for over 20 years, capturing lovers at the top of this easy hike and throughout the park.

Ride Into The Sunset at Sandy Valley Ranch

Take to the great outdoors for those nuptials and saddle up to get hitched at an authentic dude ranch. Offering that tried and true homestead aesthetic, Sandy Valley Ranch creates unique ceremonies in the rural expanse of the wild West. Head the ranch house or ride into the sunset with horseback photo ops, toast among fellow ranch fans and enjoy the aesthetics.

Vegas-born owner Marilynn Gubler used to ride her horse to school. She dreamed of owning a spot where everyone could experience “the cowboy life.” She purchased the property 25 years ago and has expanded from the equestrian focus of Sandy Valley Ranch to host weddings with the same focus.

“Now, [Sandy Valley Ranch] is a 160 acre dude ranch. We offer trail rides through the Mojave desert, cattle sorting, cattle drives, two large arenas for rodeos and eight unique glamping sites,” says ranch manager Sandi Croft. “Not to mention, all the wonderful animals to visit like horses, donkeys, chickens, pigs, cows and the friendliest ranch dogs.”

Go Stargazing on Mount Charleston

Desert weddings aren’t the only settings within reach in Nevada. For an elevation hike and lush outdoor site, drive up to Mount Charleston for forest aesthetics and panoramic views of the Valley below.

The snow and fall colors offer rare variety in seasonal weddings only 45 minutes away from Las Vegas proper. Lee Canyon sits on the neighboring mountain face, as the perfect afterparty for a winter wedding. Sites like The Retreat on Charleston Peak host both festivities and guests, while local companies like Elopement Las Vegas offer specialty packages for a mountainside marriage.
