Astrology Weddings: Planning a Marriage Ceremony for Romantic Cancers

Cancer season, which coincides with the summer solstice, is a popular time of year to tie the knot. In astrology, Cancer is the fourth sign of the zodiac, born between June 21 through July 22. The moon rules this star sign, which governs emotions, intuition and the subconscious mind. As cozy romantics, Cancers are likely to gravitate toward a dreamy wedding that’s intimate, sentimental and family-focused, often with a hint of vintage charm.

Cleopatra Jade, a Las Vegas-based astrologer specializing in dating, relationships and energy healing, taps into the lunar energy of this summer-born sign to offer wedding advice tailored for Cancerians. Jade expresses how Cancer’s defining traits may influence the way they approach wedding planning.

“Cancers deserve a ceremony that’s filled with fun, the right mood and ways to make their wedding feel sacred,” says Jade. “Therefore, engaging in a spiritual activity that solidifies their bond will help a Cancerian feel a sense of wholeness on that day. Also, sentiments go a long way as well, so having some sort of keepsake, touching moment or a way to create an incredible memory beyond the wedding is perfect for this zodiac sign.”

According to Brides, Cancers are likely to hold their wedding in their hometown or choose venues that feel like home. Wedding decor that aligns with the sign’s  romantic tendencies while making their loved ones feel at ease is key. Think old-school photo booths, guest books and handwritten notes.

“Their wedding needs to be filled with meaningful relationships, i.e, the people who feel like family,” says Jade. “So, whether that’s their relatives or chosen family, the wedding needs to be packed with people who bring good vibes. Having those who carry them will give them a sense of peace, helping them feel satisfied with their ceremony. Additionally, getting married in a place that feels like a sanctuary will help them feel emotionally satisfied with the atmosphere.”

Moonstruck Mode

Fashion is another creative way for Cancers to share their love story and precious memories. While it may be less conspicuous, Cancers are often sharp dressers with an aesthetic that has a lot of depth. Blend nostalgia and creativity by wearing something old, something borrowed and something new

“Color-wise, [choose] things that represent the moon, like silver or gray colors, or even doing a smoky eye for a makeup look,” says Jade. “Blue tones always look good on this zodiac sign, such as palettes like sea-foam or pale blue. Also, Moonstone would be excellent for this, whether it’s the hue of this crystal or wearing the actual gemstone as jewelry.”

The fourth house, essentially the “family room” of the astrological chart, also governs Cancer. So it’s likely that this homebody would appreciate a special family dish served at the reception. A meaningful meal is a deeply personal way to bring everyone closer during the ceremony. As for the wedding dessert, go for a classic fairytale three-tiered cake or a homemade confection with a delicious backstory.

Frozen cocktails are the ultimate refresher for a summer matrimony. According to Parade, the perfect sip for Cancer is a timeless piña colada, which is a smooth blend of pineapple juice, coconut cream and rum. Garnish the tropical libation with tiny umbrellas for a playful touch.

When is the best time for Cancers to exchange vows? Check the celestial calendar to see what the moon phase will be on the ideal date. Every lunar stage comes with its own spiritual meaning, which could reflect the ambiance of the celebration. For example, a Full Moon symbolizes completion, culmination and celebration.

“Given the fact that the moon is literally the ruling celestial body for Cancerians, it’s best to use the phase when they are at their peak,” says Jade. “I would say the best times are during the Gibbous and the Full Moon, since this will contribute to the sense of feeling lively. It’s also a good time to initiate something that they want to see manifest quicker, such as wishes and intentions they want to set for their personal life going forward.”

The Sky’s The Limit

Last but not least, Cancers may be creatures of comfort, but they still contain multitudes. It’s important to leave room for any last-minute changes that may arise. After all, it’s this water astrology sign’s nature to lead with their heart and follow their intuition.

“Cancers aren’t a one-note type of zodiac sign, so they need to have great options,” says Jade. “Considering how much they fluctuate, it’s good to have a plan A, B and sometimes C. Doing this will ensure that if they change their mind or aren’t in the mood for a specific type of food, dress, or aesthetic, they have a backup plan to suit their various moods or shift in plans.”
