Mel Torme + Arlene Miles

Mel Torme was a Jazz musician, singer, composer and actor and composed the music and co-wrote the lyrics for “The Christmas Song” (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire). He was nicknamed “The Velvet Fog.” Mel and Arlene had one son, Tracy in 1959. Torme’s sister Myrna Torme Williams served from 1995 – 2007 on the Clark County Board of County Commissioners and ten years in the Nevada Assembly.
