Sept. 3 Extravaganza to Include Monumental Vow Renewal for Hundreds of Couples,
“Las Vegas Will You Marry Me” Musical Production, More
The Wedding Capital of the World™ announces tickets are on sale now for its 70th Anniversary Celebration taking place on Sunday, Sept. 3, at Caesars Palace. Encompassing a once-in-a-lifetime mass wedding vow renewal for couples, brunch, a fabulous wedding cake by Buddy “Cake Boss” Valastro’s world-famous bakery, Carlo’s Bake Shop in Las Vegas, and an original vintage Vegas musical production, the extravaganza will pay tribute to love and marriage as well as the more than 5 million couples who have married in Clark County. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, which provides youth with the help, hope and support needed to rebuild their lives.
Las Vegas’ status as the globe’s most desirable wedding location was first recognized on Sept. 23, 1953, when the London Daily Herald referred to it as the “Wedding Capital of the World” in an article about Las Vegas weddings. The destination went on to chart 1 million total weddings by 1974, 3 million weddings by 2000 and 5 million weddings on Feb. 20, 2022.
The 70th Anniversary Celebration’s original production show, titled “Las Vegas Will You Marry Me,” will honor the hundreds of couples expected to attend the celebration and renew their vows. The show will be hosted by Dennis Bono, recording artist and star of “The “Dennis Bono Show,” the weekly show which broadcasts worldwide from Michael Gaughan’s South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa in the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas. Written by Lorraine Hunt-Bono and Dennis Bono, produced by Damian Costa with Pompey Entertainment and featuring the theme song written by noted composer Dan Slider, “Las Vegas Will You Marry Me” will offer a memorable, musical journey through Las Vegas’ seven decades of love stories
“With thousands of couples from across the globe already expressing interest in attending the 70th Anniversary Celebration, we look forward to the monumental vow renewal event and debut of ‘Las Vegas Will You Marry Me,’” said Lynn Marie Goya, Clark County Clerk. “The celebration will truly be a once-in-a-century moment to spotlight Las Vegas as the world’s most desirable wedding destination and celebrate the millions of couples who have married here.”
The VIP Couples Package ($170 per couple) includes brunch and participation in the mass vow renewal ceremony as part of the show. General admission tickets are also available for $70 per person for anyone who would like to see the original production show being staged for the milestone anniversary.
The Wedding Capital of the World’s 70th Anniversary Celebration is being produced with the support of Caesars Entertainment, the Vegas Wedding Chamber, Grafico Las Vegas, Cashman Photo Enterprise, The Dennis Bono Show, Bootlegger Bistro and Carlo’s Bake Shop.
