LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Couples are lining up at the Marriage License Bureau in anticipation of the popular wedding date, May 25, 2025.
This date forms a rare numerical palindrome, 5/25/25, which reads the same forward and backward, making it a sought-after choice for nuptials in the “Wedding Capital of the World.”
The lines were long on Friday as couples eagerly awaited their turn to obtain marriage licenses.
In addition to May 25, other palindrome dates this month, such as May 20 (5/20/25) through May 29 (5/29/25), are also attracting attention.
Clark County Clerk Lynn Marie Goya said, “Conducting more destination weddings than any other place on the planet, we’ve spent decades tracking trends and anticipating demand. Thanks to that data, we know palindrome dates such as 5/25/25 are especially meaningful to couples.”
Las Vegas has a history of popular wedding dates featuring unique numerical patterns, often referred to as “magic dates.”
The most popular wedding date in Las Vegas history was July 7, 2007, known as “Lucky 7s,” when 4,492 couples tied the knot.
Another notable date was November 11, 2011, with 3,125 weddings.
More recently, February 22, 2022, became the sixth most popular date with 2,331 weddings.
As the city prepares for another influx of couples, the allure of palindrome dates continues to captivate those seeking a memorable wedding day.
